Permanent position for a In-house Legal Advisor in Johannesburg.

R Market related salary.

To provide leadership in the delivery of reliable, accurate, timely and well-informed advice to the Stallion Group on legal issues and the potential legal implications on various corporate strategies, business initiatives and projects

REQUIREMENTS :

  • BCom Law/LLB Degree 3 years exp in a law industry or relevant industry 3 years exp in drafting and analyzing legal documents 
  • Registered with the Law Society  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Legal liaison: - 

  • Liaise directly with lawyers when defending claims 
  • Manage and drive the legal process where our Company has institued legal proceedings against 3rd parties
  • Legal counsel to Exco
  • Maintain legal and collection registere

The perusal of all non-standard sales agreements, supplier contracts and service level agreements

  • Ensure that all non-standard sales agreements, supplier contracts and service level agreements are read and that all risks (financial and operational) are reported to Excel
  • Ensure that all insurance clauses in non-standard sales agreements should be forwarded to the insurers for confirmation that Stallion would be covered for the contracted responsibilities

Effective management of insurance matters:

  • All insurance policies are kept up to date - Any changes needed to the policies is effected as soon as possible - To be the sole contact with Stallion to handle all insurance related queries -
  • Ensure that the annual renewals of the insurance policies are done accurately and on time
  • Ensure that all statutory company legal documentation is up to date and safeguarded
  • Liaise with the registered company secretary (S.G.G. Secretaries (PTY) Ltd) to ensure that company secretarial records are up to date
  • Ensure the accurate and timeous change in the company secretarial documents should there be any required changes 

The effective management of the Group's PNP's

  • All group PNP's are recorded on Guardian, stored on the network and one other backup
  • All changes to PNP's received from the relevant department is approved by the relevant Director/Exco
  • All amendments to PNP's once approved are updated on Guardian and the server and indexed
  • All new PNP's once approved, are updated on Guardian and the server and indexed

Record keeping management:

  • Ensure that the following registers are kept: - Legal registers/insurance for all claims for and against Company with details
  • Bank register - Contract register (Client)

Custodian of the Company's BBBEE scorecard

  • Compile the BBBEE strategy for the company as well as implement it
  • Develop supplier questionnaire and compliance model - Implement and uphold BBBEE quality reporting systems
  • Responsible for the BBBEE Compliance requirements and developing evaluation models

Implement knowledge of Government Regulation BBBEE Act, Good Codes of Practice Lead internal stakeholders during ISO audits: - Evaluate process for compliance with quality requirements

  • Assist in development of audit schedules
  • Participate in quality audits and lead a team of quality auditors
  • Identify processes, situations, etc where organization is not adhering to ISO requirements, as well as identify remedial actions to improve
  • Assist with follow-up audits, as required - May be required to develop internal auditing parameters

REQUIRED TO WORK LONG HOURS, WEEKENDS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS DEPENDING OF OPERATIONAL .
